Expert Advice: General Advice
In general we have two important pieces of advice regarding your violin, viola, cello or bass:
- Carefully maintain your instrument.
- Bring it in to Bischofberger Violins for regular maintenance and repair.
In spite of the best maintenance, damage may occur to your violin - parts may become unglued or tiny cracks may appear in the wood. These issues may be invisible to the untrained eye, but it may be advantageous or crucial to deal with them early on.
The best way to discover damage and wear is to bring your instrument to Bischofberger Violins. Our professional craftsmen can detect and prioritize issues that need to be repaired immediately vs. ones that can be put off if necessary.
To avoid permanently damaging your instrument, please never attempt to repair it yourself.
